The short answer is yes, social media is worth it. It may take up time, money, and resource, but in 2022, social media is always worth it. I agree, that for this industry, word-of-mouth is the best form of marketing. However, if you aren’t incorporating social media marketing into your overall marketing strategy, you could be missing out on many benefits.
Showing off your work
First of all, social media is an excellent way to show off what you can do. When potential customers are researching companies, they are likely going to look you up on social media too. When they do this, what do you want them to see? Do you want them to see lots of pictures, videos, testimonials, and updates? Having a good social media presence will give you a competitive advantage.

Engage with your customers
Social media gives you the ability to check in with your target audience at any time. It makes it easier to answer quick questions and give out quotes. Customers appreciate knowing that when they post comments on your pages, they will receive a personalised response rather than an automated message. This humanises your brand and creates better relationships with your customers and potential customers.
Builds brand awareness
Implementing a social media strategy will increase your brand recognition since you will be engaging with a broad audience of consumers. The more people that know and trust you brand, the more business you will get. It's as simple as that. Ask your friends and family to help promote your business by sharing and liking your page.
Improves SEO
It’s no secret that having a strong social presence improves your search engine ranking. While social media doesn't directly increase search engine rankings, Social Media Examiner states that more than 58% of marketers who have been using social media for one year or longer still see improved search engine rankings. SEO is important for achieving a higher page rankings and obtaining traffic to your website. Who doesn’t use Google to search for information these days?

Can you still find work without social media? Yes. But if you're looking to build brand awareness, loyalty, trust, reputation, good relationships with customers, and improve your SEO then you should start building your social media strategy.
